I am Andrea R. Huff, the author of the books in the Immersive Travel Guides series.

My husband and I have always been avid travelers, and we use our immersive travel approach throughout many areas of Europe, Morocco, Bali, Mexico, and countless other parts of the world.

My first book in this series was on Todos Santos in Baja California Sur and the surrounding towns of El Pescadero, La Paz, and San José del Cabo, Mexico. 

The second book in this series was published in 2025 and covers out-of-the-way locations in Northern Portugal and Galicia, Spain. It continues to take the immersive approach of identifying a base  location that is less traveled and staying there long enough to get to know the local community.

I am currently working on my third book, which will be published in 2026 after our trip in April. I do not use AI to write my books, only for research, and and we always make lengthy trips and interview locals and expats to find unusual places.

Before this travel series, my previous book, published in 2024, Retire at Any Age and Find Your Purpose, explored the possibilities of retiring from working for someone else to find meaningful and fulfilling ways to use the time remaining to better incorporate life and work. This can also include travel, volunteer work, and creative ventures.

I decided to practice what I preach to others and find a new purpose for my work and life. I am now combining my love of writing and travel to create this series of unique travel guides and a publishing company, Sonoma Publishing, which my husband and I operate from Sonoma, CA, to publish all my books.

My husband, Michael Huff, is the COO of this company and handles the operations, technology, and financial aspects, while I focus on the writing, design, and content development.

I have a master’s degree in counseling and a coaching certification. I started the Coaching and Leadership practice and was a Managing Director and on the Executive Team for the world’s largest career and leadership consulting company, Lee Hecht Harrison.

I founded and have been running my previous business, Third Stage of Life Consulting, for the past six years, during which I coached people of all ages to enter the third stage of their lives and determine their purpose.

My goal has been to help my clients find new identities that are both satisfying and impactful. I have worked with thousands of people from a wide range of backgrounds, helping them find direction and take action through a clear and practical approach.

I am living the third stage of life myself and have transformed a corporate career into a rich and varied entrepreneurial life.
